About the Awards:

Roger T. Bryant Award - The Vermont Roger T. Bryant Distinguished Athletic Trainer Award is presented by the Vermont Association of Athletic Trainers (VAAT) to the certified and licensed Athletic Trainer whose character, commitment and achievements in the profession of Athletic Training exemplify the traits of Roger T. Bryant.  Roger was the long time Head Athletic Trainer and Program Director/founder of the Athletic Training Education Program at UVM from 1965-1992.  Roger was a true friend, educator and mentor to all who knew him and his integrity is unmatched. All certified Athletic Trainers in the state of Vermont are invited to submit nominations for the Roger T. Bryant Distinguished Athletic Trainer Award.  This award may or may not be awarded annually.

Excellence in Athletic Training Award - The Vermont Recognition of Excellence in Athletic Training award is given to certified and licensed members of the Vermont Association of Athletic Trainers (VAAT) who has enhanced athletic health care, made significant contributions to the professional development and advancement of Athletic Training, and/or has demonstrated extreme dedication and hard work to the profession of Athletic Training. All certified Athletic Trainers in the state of Vermont are invited to submit nominations for the Vermont Recognition of Excellence in Athletic Training Award. This award may be given to more than one deserving individual per year.

Honorary Membership - The Honorary Membership award is presented by the Vermont Association of Athletic Trainers so the Association could recognize and thank the many people outside the athletic training profession who have made special contributions to the VAAT and the advancement of the athletic training profession.

The mission of the VAAT is to advance the profession of athletic training through inclusive advocacy, education, and collaboration while enhancing the quality of health care for the physically active.

The VAAT further amplifies National and District One endeavors by promoting member engagement, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and endorsing the integral role athletic trainers play in the delivery and advancement of patient-centered, evidence-based healthcare.
