What is an Athletic Trainer?
Nationally certified and Vermont state licensed athletic trainers are health care professionals who specialize in preventing, recognizing, managing and rehabilitating injuries that result from physical activity. As part of a complete health care team, the certified athletic trainer works under the direction of a licensed physician and in cooperation with other health care professionals, athletics administrators, coaches and parents. To learn more, please visit the American Medical Association or the National Athletic Trainers' Association.

NPI Numbers

Based on recent NATA membership information provided to the VAAT, only 36% of certified members reported having a National Provider Identifier (NPI) number. NPI registration is a key component of advancing the profession both here in Vermont and across the nation. Not sure if you have your NPI? Click HERE to check.

If you don’t have your NPI, you can sign up for one by creating an account HERE.

Once you confirm your NPI, be sure to update your NATA member profile to reflect your NPI status!
