VAAT Athletic Training Student Scholarship

The Vermont Association of Athletic Trainers has committed to honoring outstanding students within our membership whom have excelled academically and clinically as athletic training students.  At present, one $1000 scholarship will be awarded by NATA District 1, and one $500 scholarship will be awarded annually to Vermont Athletic Training Students who have participated with distinction in an accredited VT Athletic Training Education Program by the VAAT.  These awards are meant to encourage the recipients to continue their education toward a baccalaureate degree.

Nominations

Each Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) supervisor is asked to nominate not more than one candidate for this award.  In presenting the candidate, the ATC/supervisor must forward forms completed by the student, the team physician or an academic professor, the head of the department or dean of the college, and the ATC/supervisor.  Complete criteria for candidacy may be found in the Scholarship Application.

The ATC/supervisor should see that all forms are completed (typed or printed) and forwarded in one package with an official transcript of the candidate’s academic record to the Chairperson of the VAAT Scholarship Committee at the address listed on the first page of this application.

Selection

The VAAT Scholarship Committee will screen candidates and announce the winner of the $500 VAAT scholarship to our membership at our annual spring meeting. The $1000 NATA District 1 Scholarship winner will receive their award at the EATA Annual Meeting.

Application Deadline

Nominations must be received by April 15, 2008. No exceptions or extensions will be accepted. Only NATABOC Certified Athletic Trainers may nominate student athletic trainers.

Previous Scholarship Winners are not eligible for nomination.
