Part Time Athletic Trainer
Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • To assist the Head & Assistant Athletic Trainers in the following tasks:
    • Coordinating the daily operation of the athletic training facilities:
      • Evaluation of injured athletes
      • Development and administration of treatment and rehabilitation protocols
    • Provide athletic training coverage for women’s hockey and other sports as assigned
    • Travel to away events as assigned
    • Work under the direction of the University physicians with respect to appropriate injury management
    • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in athletic training or other health related field preferred
  • Certification by the NATABOC
  • Vermont Athletic Trainer licensure or eligible
  • Certification in First Aid & CPR

Hours:

  • Hours will average 20+ hours per week. Daily schedule will vary based upon sport season.

Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation - University of Vermont College of Medicine

The Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation at the University of Vermont College of Medicine is seeking candidates for a full-time Research Project Assistant. This position will provide technical and administrative assistance and perform data management functions in support of a federally-funded research grant investigating ACL injury risk factors in high school and collegiate athletes. During this study, the Research Project Assistant will work closely with Vermont and Northern New York high school and collegiate Certified Athletic Trainer's, as well as ACL-injured athletes and control subjects, their parents, orthopaedic physicians, and other research professionals.

Qualifications:

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in health sciences (athletic training, nursing, physical therapy, exercise science, biological sciences) and one to two years of related experience or an equivalent combination. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with patients/research subjects are essential. Working experience with word processing and statistical software and the ability to understand research protocols and procedures are required. Experience in clinical setting is desirable.
